The project received Boston Redevelopment Authority approval in 2003.

McLean Hospital in Belmont, Massachusetts, is the largest psychiatric teaching facility of Harvard Medical School.

McLean's facilities occupy about 50 acres of its 240-acre site. The Keefe Company served as McLean's advisor in its successful effort to win approval of a master plan to rezone the property for a mixture of open space, residential, research and development, and hospital use. The master plan includes a total of 1.2 million square feet of new private development, while permanently protecting 140 acres of open space.
