The Joslin Diabetes Center,
a world-famous research and treatment facility in Boston's Longwood
medical area, has proposed to build a mixed-use structure combining
research and treatment space for Joslin with housing that Boston
badly needs. The project received Boston Redevelopment Authority
approval in 2003.
The Keefe Company served as
Joslin's development consultant and liaison to neighborhood groups,
city agencies, and other medical institutions in the area.
McLean Hospital in Belmont,
Massachusetts, is the largest psychiatric teaching facility of
Harvard Medical School.
McLean's facilities occupy about
50 acres of its 240-acre site. The Keefe Company served as McLean's
advisor in its successful effort to win approval of a master plan
to rezone the property for a mixture of open space, residential,
research and development, and hospital use. The master plan includes
a total of 1.2 million square feet of new private development,
while permanently protecting 140 acres of open space.
